Dress It Up, Dress It Down

Each of my favorite pairs of shoes - all very different - strikes its own distinct chord within the same outfit. WIth shoes, it’s a challenge to hit favorably on all three three C’s (cute, comfort, and cost), but I’ve made progress with a select few.

Shoes: Everlane

When I first put these on, they felt so much heavier than a standard sneaker that I felt like I’d strapped cinder blocks to my feet. Now I realize that’s a sign of good support and structure. Lavender is no longer available on Everlane’s website, but it still comes in several cute colors. For the year and a half I’ve worn them, these have been a great casual sneaker.

Shoes: Clarks

Ladies, don’t let the heel fool you - this is an incredibly comfortable shoe. Value for price is unbeatable, given that I can wear these all day at work and my feet stay happily blister-free. Clarks makes a fantastic functional shoe that still elevates the whole look. See how well they dress up jeans and a tee?

Shoes: Steve Madden

What a sharp-looking flat! Be warned - these Steve Maddens are great but warrant some heel protection with a Bandaid or two when breaking them in. Nordstrom is sold out of Black Croc, but click above for several other colors on Amazon and click here for the same pair in Taupe Croc.
